Case Updates

MAY 2, 2016

Today, our firm started a class action lawsuit by filing a Complaint against BB&T Corporation in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. The lawsuit alleges that National Penn Bank, prior to being purchased by BB&T, violated the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act by failing to pay its Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) extra overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 per week. Instead, the MLOs were only paid a commission based on the number of mortgage loan and refinance products that were purchased by National Penn customers. The Complaint asks that the Court certify a class of all individuals who, during any time since May 2, 2013, worked for National Penn Bank as MLOs in Pennsylvania. A copy of the Complaint is available below.
