This class action lawsuit seeks to recover unpaid overtime compensation for Mortgage Loan Officers ("MLOs") who worked for J.G. Wentworth Home Lending, LLC at their southeastern Pennsylvania call center. Today, our firm along with co-counsel The Law Office of Chris R. Miltenberger, PLLC, started a class action lawsuit by filing a Complaint against J.G. Wentworth Home Lending, LLC in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. The lawsuit alleges that J.G. Wentworth violated the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act by failing to pay its Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) extra overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 per week. Today, the Defendant filed an Answer to the Complaint. In the Answer, Defendant denies violating the law and asserts that its pay practices are legal. You can access the Answer below. The Court has scheduled a hearing for August 21, 2018 to establish a discovery schedule in this case.
AUG 21, 2018
Today, the Court held a conference for the parties to set a schedule for the case going forward. At the conclusion of the conference, the Court issued a scheduling order which is available below. The most notable date is the discovery deadline which was set for January 9, 2018.
MAY 8, 2019
We are happy to announce that today the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge assigned to this case granted our motion for preliminary approval of the class action settlement of this case on behalf of loan officers who worked at J.G. Wentworth's Wayne, Pennsylvania call center. The Court ordered that notice of the settlement be sent to members of the class and scheduled a final approval hearing for September 9, 2019.
